JJR Challenges Dayton Defense Community to Step up Support in Response to COVID-19
Dayton, Ohio — In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, JJR Solutions is stepping up its support to its employees and the Dayton community and is challenging fellow Dayton defense contractors to do the same.
“Our colleagues in the defense industry are resilient, responsible, and prepared to weather this storm. I would like to encourage the defense community to step up our support to the Dayton region during this crisis,” said JJR Chief Operating Officer Carly Cox. “The need is here, the need is great, and our support is needed now.”
Some of the ways JJR recommends providing support are:
Offering additional benefits to your workforce (e.g., flexible and alternate teleworking schedules, voluntarily providing paid sick leave for COVID-19)
Supporting takeout meals from locally owned restaurants
Donating much-needed products or resources
Giving money to local non-profits
Two local non-profits JJR has been privileged to support are Shoes 4 the Shoeless and the Wright State University Student Emergency Relief Campaign. Shoes 4 the Shoeless has pivoted from giving shoes to schoolchildren to providing food for kids who no longer have school meals to rely upon. The Wright State University Student Emergency Relief Campaign is working to provide food, housing, lost wages, mental health support, and other assistance to students affected by COVID-19.
While both of these non-profits are great ways to support community health and well-being during the pandemic, many other excellent non-profits are making a difference. Whatever your company’s location or interest, please consider making a gift. “Let’s take action today to make a meaningful and lasting impact on our community,” said Cox.
